Expression

These works are abstract expressionist. I start with a blank canvassed colours I feel in the moment. No plan. The process consists of rapid movements with large brushes and pallet knives. I believe these works are from the sub-conscious mind.

Blue

This series features predominately blue paintings. They are purely expressionistic works - created with no plan in mind except the colour blue. I feel they reflect the pure, cold of snow, ice and pure water and the beauty and fragility of our planet. I am reminded of the melting icecaps..

Emerging

Although these are abstract works, often, shapes resembling human forms emerge as I am painting. These are not planned. They just happen, almost as though by themselves. I am fascinated by what the brain is capable of - both for the artist and the viewer.

Green

These works fit into a series only because having executed them, I observe a commonality of colour and a feeling of nature observed. When I create a work, I have no idea where it is going. All these works are expressionist. THey are created with rapid physical energy which reflects the energy of all things living and I hope the viewer can feel.

Older Works

This is a disparate collection of works that either are much older, or don't fit in to one of my other collections. Because of the way I work, I often produce paintings that don't resemble other styles that I have produced previously.
